Dancer

Lady Bevel is a Los Angeles native who grew up in an artistic household. Inspired by the musical West Side Story, she developed an interest in dance by the age of twelve. She fostered this interest by learning choreography from the interpretation of African and hip-hop movements. Her mother, who was already an accomplished painter, recognized her gift and encouraged her to enter talent shows in the neighborhood. By the time Lady was eighteen, she had perfected her performance and technical skills.

After high school, she attended Pasadena City College and joined a dance troupe that performed at various events in the area. Although the group eventually broke up, Lady continued to pursue her passion. In 1997, she moved to Oakland, California, where she began to study with an African dance troupe. It was during this period that her skills evolved as she added Senegalese, Ethiopian and West Indian styles to her dance repertoire.

Lady then decided to further her education by attending the Academy of Art College in San Francisco, where, as a fashion design major, she earned a bachelor's degree in fine arts.

Lady has continued her life's evolution by exploring new genres of dance, starting her own t-shirt line and raising her son. She has now come full circle with her passion for dancing, and she couldn't be happier.
